I'm here to say . . .

. . . that “the Catholic Church is very confused”.  That is to say – 50% of it’s members are very confused.  After all, at least half of them  voted for Barak Obama in this last election.

Reading Fr. John Zuhlsdorf’s blog can give you a real taste (blech) of these twits.  I say “of” and not “for” because the word “for” suggests a liking for something and any sentence with the words taste, blech and twits all appearing together can’t mean anything good.

So . . .

Back in 2011, Fr. Z. was writing of Sr. Joan Chittister, one of the Church’s more well-known liberal gadflies.  Lucky me was today introduced to “The Council of Elders” and I gained insight into the strange thing that is called a Liberal Catholic.

I have to admit, I was puzzled by this use of the word “Elder” and didn’t know if I should put on a robe and head cover or don a black suit and helmet and hop on a bike.  But, despite this predicament, I plunged on and waded into Sr. Joan’s Council and Fr. Z’s observations on her train of thought.

I’m also here to say that yes, I am very glad I’m a Catholic, orthodox in my beliefs and grateful that this position has lead me to deepen in my Faith.  It is disappointing that these seemingly intelligent people have failed so profoundly in following the beautiful gift that God has given them; His love.  Rather, they have allowed their egos, their own sense of what it all means to overrides 2000 years of wisdom and tradition.

Fr. Z’s post below will be followed by one, or maybe two more, each talking about the adventures of Sr. Joan.  This is the earliest reference tucked into his most recent post.   Oh, and for those of you not familiar with the term, National Catholic "Fishwrap", the writer is actually referring to the National Catholic Reporter - a liberal voice for liberal catholicism.

So –with no more delay . . .  Click HERE and read all about it.  We have a lot of work ahead of us to fix matters of faith.

  1. I have felt so alone during this past election. Our pastor or deacon told us during the homily about 50% of Catholics voting that way. I feel that they have certainly lost their way. I am sorry to say that includes some of my family. I fear for our country's freedoms because of our president's stand on his so-called health care.
